CONNIE FLORENCE McKAY Peacefully on Monday, November 8, 1999 at the Childrens Hospital, Connie Florence McKay passed away at the age of 16 years. Connie was born in Winnipeg on July 27, 1983 and had resided in Winnipeg her entire life. Special thanks to the St. Amant Centre staff for all their care and kindness given to Connie for the past 13 years where she was a resident. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her parents Russell and Christine McKay; three brothers, Rodney, Ryan and Russell Jr.; two sisters, Mary and Barbara; grandparents Edwin and Barbara Orvis and grandmother Mary McKay; there are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Wilfred and grandfather Alex McKay. Prayers were said on Tuesday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, Thursday, November 11 and Friday, November 12 at Berens River. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berens River Hall, Berens River, Man., with Rev. James Swain officiating. Interment to follow at Berens River Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin McKay, Ryan McKay, Russell McKay Jr., Robin McKay, Hope McKay, Claudia Orvis, Cheryl Duck and Margaret Orvis. Active pallbearers will be Rodney McKay, Michael McKay, Robert Orvis, Nelson Bear Jr., Tache McKay and Georges Boucher.
