DEIRDRA (DEE DEE) PILLING Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family, on Monday, November 8, 1999, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Dee Dee passed away at the age of 59 years. She is survived by her husband Frank; daughter Linda, husband Ron Theriault and their daughter Nicole; son Brent McMillan (Lisa Scharf) her parents, Harold and Lila Passey; sister Leona Troyniak. She also leaves her nieces, Suzanne and family, Jennifer and Jodi (Davian) her step-children, Brad, Angie, Marla, Dee and their families. She will be fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Dee Dee was predeceased by her sister Linda Gail. Dee Dee enjoyed one year of retirement after working 23 years for Northern Affairs in Thompson. Dee Dee was an avid fan of figure skating and loved to attend the World Figure Skating Competitions with her friend Val. Dee Dee was generous to a fault and enjoyed making crafts for everyone. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. at St. George Anglican Church, 425 Rosseau Ave. E. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Transcona Cemetery. Special thank you to Dr. Owen Williams and team at the Health Sciences Centre for giving Dee Dee and her family five extra months together. Our sincere gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care for the wonderful care and compassion shown both to Dee Dee and her family.
