FRANK SMOLUK It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Frank Smoluk on Monday, November 8, 1999 at his home in Selkirk. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Caroline and Stanley Smoluk; his step-mother Sophie; his brothers, Anthony and Willie and a sister Mary. Besides his loving wife Irina, remaining to forever cherish his memory are his step-children, Luba (Victor) Martchenko of Winnipeg and Zoya (Alex), Helen (Zereza) and Uray (Irene), all of Russia. He also leaves his brother Bert; sisters, Josie (Nick) Wesluk of Neepawa, Helen (Mike) Slobidian and Olive (John) Fenny, both of Winnipeg. He also leaves numerous grandchildren, relatives and friends. Frank was born in Stead, Man. on February 8, 1921 and moved to Selkirk in 1999 where he resided until his passing. He will be remembered by his wife and family and many friends of his patience and his unfailing devotion to those he loved as well as to those in need and most of all for his quiet, gentle ways. A viewing will be held for friends and family on Thursday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jehovahs Witness Kingdom Hall, 12 Hawthorne Dr., just south of Selkirk, with Brother John Bodnar officiating. Interment to follow in the Jehovahs Witness Cemetery, East Selkirk. The family would like to express their thanks to their neighbours, Dr. Demsas, the ambulance attendants, RCMP and the hospital staff for their care and compassion.
