CAROLINE GDYK (nee SZCZABROWSKA) It is with great sadness our family announces the sudden death of our Auntie, Caroline Gdyk on Monday, November 8, 1999 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 87 years. Besides being predeceased in 1981 by her husband, Martin of 44 years of marriage, Caroline was predeceased by her parents and several brothers and sisters in Poland. She will be sadly missed by her niece, Jadwiga Moznar and her husband Miloslav; their children, Suzan Moznar and Karen Malczewski and her husband Tomasz; as well as several family members in her homeland. Caroline was born on January 21, 1912 in Panowice - Podnajce, Poland where she emigrated from in 1930. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a very hard worker and a strong willed individual. Although thousands of kilometres away, she always showed great devotion to her family and shared with us their fond memories together. Her great sense of humour and giving heart will always be remembered. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in memory of Caroline on Saturday, November 13 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father presiding. Interment will follow Mass and Caroline will be buried beside her husband Martin in the Holy Ghost Parish Cemetery, 4387 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Carolines memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 2H8.
