Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD JOHANNES OLAFSON On Tuesday, November 9,1999 in Savannah, Georgia, Leonard Johannes Olafson passed away at Savannah Memorial Hospitals Cardiac Unit. Len was born October 22, 1951 in Wynyard, Sask. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Kandahar and Wynyard, Sask. After completing high school, Len worked at various jobs in Thompson, Man., Port Alberni, B.C and Calgary, Alberta. Len started his career in transportation sales working for Fruehauf in Calgary. He transferred to Winnipeg in 1974 and continued on a successful career culminating in his position as Vice President, Trailer Sales at Maxim Trailers, Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father Johannes in 1981. He is survived by his mother Nanna Olafson of Wynyard; his fiancee Lee-Ann Nott; daughter Kris; son Kent; Lee-Anns children Harry and Olivia; and his former wife Marlene of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his brother Eric (Karen) of Wynyard; and sisters Joanne Olafson (Everrett Hewitt) of Edmonton; Elaine (Eugene) Strozen of Canora, Sask.; Edie (Marty) Leier of Saskatoon and numerous nieces and nephews. Len will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his friends, his love of the outdoors and his wonderful sense of humour. He was a walking book of knowledge and a fine gentleman. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, on Tuesday, November 16. Interment will follow at a later date in the cemetery in Kandahar, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association; The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Habitat for Humanity.
