Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN SARAH SPARR0W (nee GODDARD) Peacefully after a brief illness Kay passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on November 13, 1999 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bob, her sister Flo Todd, her brother George Goddard and parents Maud and Fred Goddard. Kay leaves to mourn her daughters, Margaret Fierheller and husband Darrell and Judy Ford; her beloved grandchildren, Kathy (Derrick) Mathae, Bruce (Lori) Fierheller, Brad Ford (Carla), and Rob Ford (Tracy), and her precious great-grandchildren, Bretton, Courtney and Amanda Mathae, Jasmine Fierheller and Kiana Ford; brothers, Cliff (Beth) Goddard of Ladysmith, B.C. and Frank (Helen) Goddard of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Nora Sparrow and Bernice Sparrow. Kay was born in Ericksdale, Manitoba on December 22, 1919, moving to Winnipeg at an early age. She worked at Canada Bread until her marriage to Bob in 1940. Mom dedicated her whole life to raising her family. Mom and Dad enjoyed many summers at their cottage at Whytewold Beach. In later years, she became involved in many activities at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre. She enjoyed her many friendships when she resided at the Fort Garry Place and the Villa Cabrini. Mom was a wonderful cook and baker, and the family always looked forward to her trade-mark of "Imperial Cookies", white layer cake and her wonderful pastry. Her kindness and loving heart endeared her to all who knew her. Moms greatest pleasure was her visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also looked forward to going out weekly with her daughters. The family wishes to extend thanks to staff at 5A and Palliative Care, St. Boniface Hospital for their special care and kindness. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway conducted by Rev. Carol Fletcher. There will be viewing prior to the service. The service will terminate at the chapel with interment of the cremated remains at a later date. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg. R2H 2A6. Our Mom was a treasure, Always helping and giving.
