KURT LIEBERMANN Peacefully and without distress on Saturday, November 13, 1999 at Riverview Health Centre. Kurt is survived by his remaining family Lisette, Marguerite, Archie, Gloria and their spouses, grandchildren and nieces, as well as many nephews and nieces in Germany, and numerous friends including many from Grand Marais, Man. Kurt is predeceased by his loving companion Jean, a sister and brothers in Germany. Kurt was an independent, down to earth gentleman, who lived a full and eventful life. An honest, hardworking, good humoured soul who was always full of captivating stories to share about his adventures and the people in his life. Stories about his mischievous youth in Germany, particularly his 12 man bobsled that still exists in the town of Grafenthal. Stories about a transatlantic cruise ship, witnessing the era of the Hindenburg dirigible. Second World War stories from a very different perspective as a reluctant soldier and many years as a prisoner of war in England. Stories of forging a new life in Canada from the farm, to the city and the `beach. Stories of many friends along the way in his dedicated years as a butcher at Swifts and memorable times at Grand Beach. Kurt lived a very good story. A story that will now be missed but not forgotten. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Riverview Health Centre and Jocelyn House for all their kind dedicated attention. Kurts wish, as an independent and private person, was that he would depart without complexity or fanfare, therefore no formal services will be forthcoming. Those who wish to honour his memory may make a donation in his name to the hospice Jocelyn House.
