Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON LLOYD SCOTT On Sunday, November 14, 1999 Gordon Lloyd Scott went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Saviour. Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marion of 52 years; son Doug; daughters, Joy (Dennis) Akerley, Susan, Nancy (Jeff) Loiland; grandchildren, Stewart (Tricia) Akerley, Heather (Kris) Scott, Joanne Akerley, Alicia and Emily Loiland; brother Ed (Flo) Scott of Calgary; and sister Catherine (Bill) Bily of Vancouver; sister-in -law Dot (Jerry) Young of St. Albert, AB; brother-in-law Gordon Smith of Vancouver; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father Sam and Ruth Scott; brothers, Alex and George; and sister Phyllis Bathie. Gordon was born on January 24, 1927 in Winnipeg. His early years were spent in St. James. Gordon served with the R.C.H.A. from 1947 to 1969, being stationed in Shilo, Winnipeg and Germany. After his retirement from the Forces, he worked as an appliance repairman, and 11 years with Canada Post before retiring in 1990. In his retirement he and Marion had many happy trips to Hawaii. The last five winters were spent in Pine to Palm Retirement Park in Weslaco, Texas. Gordon had been a member of the C.O.F Court St. John for over 50 years. In his early years he was active with the Boy Scouts of Canada. Gordon loved to sing and was an active member of the K.P.U.C choir for 16 years, the park choir in Pine to Palm, and the choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Weslaco. He was also a member of the South Interlake Golf Course at Warren. Gordon will be remembered for his hugs. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kirkfield Park United Church, McBey at Kirkfield Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, or to a charity of your choice.
