Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA GIESBRECHT (nee Boschmann) Peacefully on November 16, 1999 at Concordia Hospital, Anna Giesbrecht passed away at the age of 87. Devoted wife of the late Gerhard Giesbrecht, loving mother of Francis (Margaret) of Cary, North Carolina, Marie (late Alfred) Stickel of Ottawa and John Giesbrecht of Calgary. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Karen (Steve) Reed of Chippenham, England, and Kathryn Giesbrecht of Cary and great-grandson Nicholas Reed of Chippenham. Also cherished by grandchildren Paul and Jo-Ann of Calgary and Carla Giesbrecht of Toronto, children of John and Linda. She will also be fondly remembered by an extensive circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street with Rev. Albert Durksen officiating. Interment to follow in Niverville Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Viewing Friday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Bethania Personal Care Home Chapel, 1045 Concordia Avenue and at the church prior to the service. Anna was born in South Russia on December 1, 1911. She was the daughter of Gerhard and Anna (Hildebrand-Janzen) Boschmann. She emigrated to Canada in 1926 and settled in Saskatchewan. After their marriage, George and Anna farmed in Rabbit Lake, Sask. In 1950 they moved to Niverville, Man., where they farmed prior to purchasing the locker plant. They retired to Winnipeg in 1974. The family wishes to thank Dr.s Dirks and Doermer as well as staff of Concordia Hospital and Home Care. A special thanks also to Adina Wall and Werner and Eileen Peters for their loving support over the past years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethania Personal Care Home or to Mennonite Central Committee, available at the church.
