THEODORE (TED) EDWARD SHAMAN Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 16, 1999, Theodore (Ted) Edward Shaman passed away at St. Josephs Nursing Home with his loving wife Margaret (Peggy) at his side. Ted was born June 12, 1918 to Marie and Phillip Shamansky. Ted received his education at Margaret Scott and Isaac Newton School. In 1938 Ted moved to Montreal to pursue a career as a professional musician, a career that would last for 50 years. During the Second World War Ted jointed the R.C.A.F. and served overseas for four years. It was at this time that he met his British bride of 55 years, Margaret Goulding. Through his years of community involvement Ted received a number of citations and rewards honouring his volunteer efforts. Ted was extremely proud of his accomplishments with the following organizations - Winnipeg Musicians Assoc., Canadian Cancer Society, Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation (Board member 15 years), Royal Canadian Legion Branch #141 (46 years), recipient of, Life Membership, Meritorious Service Award, and Palm Leaf. Ted will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret; three sons, Edward (Joyce), Phillip (Margaret) and Michael (Gloria). "Grandpa" and "Papa" will be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as his sister Mary Bartman and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Fr. Michael Koryluk officiating. Private interment to follow. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the loving care that Ted received while at Seven Oaks Hospital and special thanks to the staff on the 2nd floor at St. Josephs Nursing Home. Flowers gratefully declined.
