AMY VICTORIA KATHLEEN PETERSON (nee WALSTROM) Suddenly we lost our Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother on Sunday, November 14, 1999 at the Erickson District Health Centre. Mom was born on May 24, 1916 in Hilltop, Man., the second child of Carrie and Victor Walstrom. Her growing up years were spent in the Hilltop and Erickson districts where she lived her entire life, a home she loved dearly. On September 24, 1936 Amy and Edwin Peterson were married and started their life together on the family farm in Hilltop. Throughout their 45 years of marriage, Mom and Dad worked together to make a success of their family and farm. Mom was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church in which she took an active part. She belonged to the Hilltop Community Club and contributed to a number of local events in Hilltop and Erickson. She had a keen interest in her garden and was able to enjoy it until her 80th year. Another interest of Moms was her love of history. She thoroughly enjoyed writing several family histories for the Clanwilliam Municipality Centennial. Moms family was the centre of her life. From youngest to oldest, we all have many fond memories of her which will be cherished for years to come. Mom was predeceased by an infant brother and sister, Oliver and Eleanor; her parents, Carrie and Victor; her husband, Edwin and a son-in-law Wayne Vogt. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, La Verne Uhl, Elenor LeBeau (Andy), Carolyn Vogt (Glenn Peckover) and Clarence Peterson; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Erickson Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 17 with interment at the Erickson Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Jayson and Jeffrey Uhl, Danny Vogt, Brett LeBeau, Shannon Bailey, Lesli Glougie, Dawn Goddard, Kelly Correia, Ashley and Trevor Bailey. If friends so desire, donations in Moms memory may be to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of their choice. The family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Doctors and staff at the Erickson District Health Centre, to granddaughter Dawn for her loving care, to Walle Larson and the Erickson Choral Group for their musical tribute at the funeral and to the many family and friends for their acts of kindness and concern. "Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times." Romans 12:12 Sparrow Funeral Service of Minnedosa was in care of arrangements.
