Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCILLE CASSIE (nee BALLA) After a lengthy battle with cancer, Lucille Cassie passed away peacefully November 17, 1999 with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her mother and father and older sister Barbara in 1987. Lucille leaves to mourn her sisters, Joan Boychuk and husband Dennis, Nancy Bourret and husband Maurice, brother Kenneth Balla and wife Valerie, all of Winnipeg, brother Richard Balla and wife Joy from Salmon Arm, BC, brother John Balla of Kingston, ON; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews; cousins; aunts and uncles who will all miss her dearly. Lucille was born on November 2, 1949, came to Winnipeg from New York to live with aunts and uncles after her mothers passing. Raised in West Kildonan, Lucille completed high school at West Kildonan Collegiate. She was a loving and caring person, always thinking of others before herself. She adored her nieces and nephews and this was evident by her kind words to them and the little things she felt she had to give. Her favourite saying "you know what I mean, jellybean", always brought a smile to our lips. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Lucilles memory to Manitoba Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St. R3E 9Z9. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Maurice Bourret and Rev. Deacon Michael Krochak officiating.
