DAVID GOERTZEN Peacefully on November 17, 1999 at Riverview Health Centre, Dave Goertzen passed away at the age of 68. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann (Friesen) and his children, Riley (Lorraine) of Calgary, Audrey of Winnipeg, Larry (Becky) of Winnipeg, Jim (Darra) of Burlington; five grandchildren; and by his sisters, Margaret Goertzen, Katherine Penner, Mary Dyck (Ernie) and his brothers, Bill (Donna), and Irvin (Helen) and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Margaret Goertzen. Funeral service will be held at Braeside Church, 1011 Munroe Ave., on Monday, November 22 at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Ron Penner officiating. Interment to follow at the Mennonite Memorial Gardens. Viewing to take place on Sunday, November 21 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Dave was born in Steinbach, MB on March 8, 1931 and was raised on the farm in the Steinbach area. He was employed in Winnipeg as a driver for Quintons for 17 years and for another 18 with Winnipeg Transit. He retired at age 61. Dave served God as a deacon in the Braeside Church and as a volunteer with many Christian organizations. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care given by the staff at Riverview. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crisis Pregnancy Centre or Inner City Youth Alive. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
