Daughter Helen (Tom), grandchildren Kathy (Brian), great-grandchildren Michael, David, Steven, Tessia, Gallia. Elise was predeceased by her parents Bess and George Bonner; brothers, Gilbert and Hector; husband Ivan in 1988; son Fred in 1991, and grandson Donald. Mother was born January 23, 1903 in Sheerness, Kent, England; she immigrated at an early age with her younger sister Bess to Bassano, Alta., to join their parents who had come earlier from England, to settle in Canada. At the young age of sixteen, mother moved to Vancouver, where she found employment with the telephone company, and worked there for many enjoyable years. Mother married Ivan in 1922 and they settled down in Medicine Hat, Alta.; where Dad worked for the CPR. There they raised their family. Mother and Dad resided in the "Hat" for sixty-six years. Mother was always busy with her family and she also found the time to be active with St. Barnabas Anglican Church, as a life member of the A.C.W., and as well as teaching Sunday School for many years. Mother liked to keep her hands busy, and she enjoyed her weekly get together with her friends to "stitch and chatter", where she knit many pairs of socks for Dad and son Fred; who loved to wear her hand knit socks. After Dads passing in 1988, mother moved to Tssawwassan B.C. to live with her dear sister Bess. In 1991, Tom and Helen also moved to B.C., and mother resided with them for two years. In 1993, mother, Tom, and Helen moved to Winnipeg to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Mother always had a great love for her family, especially all the grand and great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place at her request. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Jowett, VON. Shirley R., Home care aid Delores; and for the support of family and friends. Dear Mother, you will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
