JAMES WISHART JACKSON, M.D. Peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 1999 at Victoria Hospital. Jim is survived by his son Colin and wife Tacey of Calgary and his beloved granddaughters, Emma and Isabelle Jackson. He was predeceased by Marjorie, his wife of 54 years, in May, 1999 and by his son David in 1970. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Robin and wife Jean in Scotland, and Ian and wife Anne in England. Jim was born in Edinburgh in 1923 and graduated from the University of Edinburgh, School of Medicine. He served as a Captain in the Second World War after which he married Marjorie MacKenzie and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He practiced as a highly respected Ear, Nose and Throat doctor and surgeon in Winnipeg and was also a pioneer in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. Jim had a deep passion for classical music and was avid about technology, especially in applying the latest findings to his medical work. A graveside committal will be held at the Garry Memorial Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Friday, November 26 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Alzheimer Society in Jims name would be appreciated.
