JOYCE PICKERING Passed away November 6, 1999, age 79, after a lengthy illness in geriatric wards of Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg. Joyce is survived by two sons, Robert of Winnipeg and John, Vancouver; also grandson Ian (Tara), Vancouver, B.C.; three sisters, Alice Cook, Belmont, Ont., Jean Jolly, St. Thomas, Ont., and Wendy Menefee, Hawaii; her beloved niece The Honorable Audrey McLaughlin (NDP) of Whitehorse, Yukon and numerous other relatives and friends. Joyce was predeceased by five other sisters and one brother. She was born in Quappelle, Sask., then moved to Ontario residing in Hamilton and St. Thomas, before coming to Winnipeg in 1952. Joyce was employed for many years at Greb Industries, also Canada Safeway and Lakeland Dairies Store, before retiring. Cremation has taken place November 10. Neil Bardal Inc. in charge of arrangements. Remains have been sent to Alice Cook, sister (Belmont, Ont.) for burial in family plot at Cowal Cemetery, Ont. to include a memorial service. Donations may be sent to Winnipeg Chapter Parkinson Foundation of Manitoba, 204 - 825 Sherbrook St., Wpg., R3A 1M5, Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Wpg., R3A 1P6, or charity of your choice.
