KATHERINE PALANYCIA Peacefully on Friday, November 19, 1999, with her family at her side, Katherine Palanycia passed away at the age of 89. Katherine was born in selo Parchacz, povit Sokal, Poland in 1910 and came to Canada in 1928. She was a devoted member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Womens League. Katherine was an avid gardener and particularly enjoyed propagating roses and growing tomato plants. She was also a talented cook, and was admired for her special donut recipe, kyshka and khrustyky. Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Zosim in 1988. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Walter; daughter-in-law Patricia and grandchildren, David and Joanne. She will be missed by family and friends. Prayers will be sung 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 22 at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. with Rev. J. Holowaty officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Special thanks to the caring staff of St. Josephs Residence.
