ELMER JOHN STEELE Peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 1999, Elmer passed away at the Beacon Hill Lodge. Elmer was born on September 18, 1909 in Treherne, MB. He worked for 25 years as a bus driver with Greyhound Bus Lines and then for 20 years with the Manitoba Liquor Commission, retiring in 1975. Elmer was predeceased by his father, Robert Frame Steele; his mother Anna Mae Steele; his sister Edna Ryan and his two brothers, Bill and George Steele. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Miriam Steele; children, Garry (Lorraine), Surrey, BC, Donald (Marlene) and his daughter Patricia Condie of Winnipeg; his grandchildren, Lori, Darren, Kenneth, Shannon, Marten, Jeffrey and Brent plus nine great-grandchildren; and his brother Harry of Burlington, ON and Owen of Winnipeg. The family would like to extend special thanks for the care and compassion given by the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and the Beacon Hill Lodge. At Dads request, there will be no formal service.
