Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE GORDON ZELISKA After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with sorrow we announce the passing of George on November 21, 1999. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Elsie; stepchildren, Susan (Ken) Peacock and Brad (Alice) Darchuk; sisters, Bernice (Orest) Bilinsky and Barb (Gordon) Featherstone; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his pet Shadow. George was predeceased by his parents Tom and Marjorie; brother Dave and sister-in-law Mae. He was born in Brandon in 1934 and was raised in Winnipeg. He worked at the Winnipeg Free Press for 39 years and retired in 1995. In 1994 he met and married Elsie. In their short time together they had many happy moments. Georges favourite past times were raised horses, restoring old cars and walks in the park. Throughout his life George was a very generous and caring person. Although no longer with us, the memory of his kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Honorary pallbearer John Packowich. Pallbearers will be Ken Peacock, Arthur Kliever, Don and Lawrence Hawryluk, Don Swaikoski and Danny Reidiger. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, November 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Grey United Church, Rev. Gordon Fulford officiating. Interment All Saints Cemetery. I not only lost a husband, I lost a buddy, best friend and soul mate. George, thank you for being there for me.
