JOHN VEEN It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of John Veen on Saturday, November 13, 1999, at his winter residence in Florida, at the age of 71 years. John is survived by his loving wife, Babs, of 49 years of marriage; his son Gary (Bonnie) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; his daughter Diane (Hartley) his daughter Debbie, her son and Johns only grandchild, Ryan John Veen Haddad, also his extended family Lynn, Ray, Gwen, Karen and their families; Johns brothers and sisters in Holland and his close friends and neighbours in Winnipeg and in Florida. John was born in Holland in 1928 and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1950. They settled in Niagara Falls, Ontario where he worked for Acres Consulting Engineers. After some years, moving to Northern Manitoba, the family then settled in Winnipeg where he worked for Manitoba Hydro for 31 years. A service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, November 25, at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street, Reverend Gerard Scott-Herridge officiating.
