LILY LUKASCHUK (nee Scherbaniuk) Peacefully passed away on November 19, 1999 at St. Josephs Residence at the age of 95. Lily was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1984. She leaves to mourn her son Albert Lucas (Rose) granddaughters, Lesli (Ryan), Alison (Bob) great-grandchildren, Bradley, Christine, Scott, Ashley-Rose, Brett and niece Rose Shachtay. Lily immigrated to Canada in 1929 from the Ukraine and settled in Winnipeg where she met and married Walter Lukaschuk. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, cooking traditional favourites and visiting with family and friends. Lily was a loving, generous and caring person, always thinking of others before herself. Although Baba is no longer with us, her loving memory and beautiful spirit will always live in our hearts. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1142 Main St. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the first floor staff of St. Josephs Nursing Home for their continued compassion and kindness.
