DIETRICH DERKSEN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Dietrich Derksen on November 4, 1999 at the Concordia Personal Care Unit, at the age of 93 years. Our father will be missed and lovingly remembered by his children, daughter Herta (Jake) Frieda (Henry), sons, Henry (Dorothea) Willy (Mary) John (Sandy) daughter Lilly; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also will be missed by his sisters, Anna Klassen and Maria Andres in Bethania Home, and his brother Peter Derksen in Germany and their families. Father was born October 2, 1906 in the Ukraine. He was predeceased by his first wife Sara in 1953; and his second wife Elisabeth in 1994 and son-in-law Horst Henning in 1998. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Avenue, on November 8, 1999 at 1:30 p.m., viewing prior to the service, with Rev. Gerhard Friesen, Rev. Frank Isaac and Rev. Henry Kliewer officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres. The family of Dietrich Derksen would like to extend a special heartfelt expression of gratitude to all nurses and caregivers at Concordia Personal Care Unit that helped keep our father Opa (Papa) comfortable. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make donations in DietrichÕs memory to the Personal Care Unit, in care of Concordia Hospital Foundation, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2K 3S8, or to a charity of the donorÕs choice.
