Date of Passing: Nov 23, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES (CHAZ) ROSAIRE PATRICK JOSEPH PERREAULT 1949 - 1999 Suddenly, in the loving arms of his family, Charles (Chaz) Perreault, aged 50, on Tuesday, November 23, 1999. Chaz leaves behind in deep sadness, wife Linda (nee Neill), the love of his life and soul-mate of 27 years; also, his adored only child, Jon-Paul. Together, this small family steadfastly faced adversity with hope and courage, sustaining Chaz with a love that meant everything to him. Also surviving is his devoted, only brother Bernie (Janet) of Winnipeg. Together, they shared a unique bond of love. Fondly remembered with deep affection are nieces and nephews, Cherisse, Neil, Troy, Brent, Daniel, Diane and Matthew; also Neil Summers, a friend beyond compare, and furry little buddy, Nicole. Chaz was predeceased by his father Rosaire Joseph in 1962; his mother Gertrude Maureen (nee Robb) in 1978; and his grandmother May (Nanny) Robb in 1986. Chas loved life! He was constantly questioning, probing, analyzing and challenging - with a sense of irreverence that usually made us smile. Even until the end, he faced each day with an insatiable thirst and incredible capacity for knowledge. Never was he prepared to accept the status quo. His was a deep intellect from which so many benefited. In dedicating his career to Manitobas special needs children, he fought tirelessly on behalf of "his kids." All he gave, they gave back so much more....in simple words, smiles and successes. Chaz also loved food (pizza, in particular), good books, collecting and was never known to turn down a good beer! Mostly, to the depth of his soul, music was Chaz - as a drummer, composer, singer, entertainer and audiophile. Sing on, Chaz! Though his stay on earth was far too short, Chaz was immensely proud of the man his son had become - an intelligent, caring, respectful young man who, each day, continues to grow with certainty and confidence in the world. You are your Dads legacy, Jon-Paul, that time cannot erase. Finally, Linda and Jon-Paul wish to acknowledge the care and concern of so many friends and family members who demonstrated their love and support each and every day. In particular, thanks to Drs. Helmut Unruh and Allan Micflikier for their candor, percision and compassion. A man of deep faith, Chaz is finally and forever in a place free of pain and suffering. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m., Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m. St. John Brebeuf Parish, 1707 John Brebeuf. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Chaz may be made to a charity of your choice. Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949.
