Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT GAVIN McFADZEAN Peacefully, with his family by his side, Robert Gavin McFadzean passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at Riverview Health Centre. Gavin will be sadly missed by his son Doug (Jennifer) daughters, Debra (Rick) Campbell, Heather (Wilf) Sherman; granddaughter Jennifer Sherman and great-granddaughter Tosha Sherman. Gavin was born on May 31, 1917 in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his wife Helen; his parents, Robert and Margaret; brother John; and sisters, Bessie and Peggy. As a young man, Gavin began his career with McCaine Electric. He later became part owner until his retirement. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers overseas during the Second World War. Because of his love for golf and his long time membership with Elmhurst (which he was later honoured with lifetime membership), Gavin became very actively involved in the Manitoba Golf Association. Gavin and Helen were part of the original Wesley United Church (now Immanuel United Church) congregation. Gavins happiest times were spent with his family, whether it be at home or on the vacations he enjoyed taking his family on. Gavin enjoyed the fellowship of friends at the very other Tuesday Breakfast Club. The family would like to thank Dr. M. E. Burke for all the years of care, and most recently, the nursing staff at Riverview (3 West), especially Ophelia and Violet. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Rev. Ian Manson officiating. Interment will take place in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg MB R3C 0S6.
