ROGER JOSEPH PIERRE BERNARD It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Roger Bernard of Courtney, B.C. at the age of 55. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years; his daughters Lori-Ann (John) Brownlee, Roxanne and friend Tom. Poppa will especially be missed by his two grandsons, Brandon and Carson who he loved dearly. He will be missed by his mother Anne-Marie, sisters, Lucille (Marcel), Olive (Denis) brothers, Aime, Gerald and Robert; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Germain in 1979; brothers, Normand in 1957, Hubert in 1990. Roger was born and educated in Winnipeg, Manitoba; he joined the RCAF in 1967 with posting to Chatham where he met and married Darlene. He was later transferred to Comox, B.C. and Lahr, Germany then back to Comox where he took an early retirement at age 49, where he enjoyed golfing and travelling to his other home in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. He will be sadly missed by all. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held in Courtney, B.C. Memorial service will take place at a later date in Winnipeg.
