Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVELMA (VAL) CATHERINE PHILLIPS (nee McAREE) Passed away peacefully and with great courage on November 20, 1999 in Lions Gate Hospital. A resident of Qualicum Beach for 10 years she and her husband Stuart previously lived in West Vancouver. Born in Minnedosa and educated in Neepawa and Winnipeg, Val worked at T.C.A. prior to her marriage. She is survived by her loving family, husband Stuart; son Scott; daughter-in-law Angela; sister Beryl (Chuck) Malloch; brothers, Jack (Betty) McAree and Doug McAree. Also nieces, Heather, Kathie and Valerie and nephews, Grant, Dennis, Paul and Ian and their respective families. Val was a great lover of music and was known in many circles for her flair at entertaining friends and relatives in her home with great food, piano music and song. The family extend their gratitude to Dr. Clement E. Williams and Dr. John Hunt for their love and tender care for many years. Memorial service to be held Monday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephens United Church, Qualicum Beach, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association (Research) would be appreciated. "We miss you so much, we always will and we will count the days until we can be together again"
