MARY NOVAK It is with deep regret and sadness that her husband and family announce the sudden and unexpected death of Mary Novak on November 26, 1999. She leaves her grieving husband of 57 years, Charles; her daughter Carol and son-in-law Marvin Lange and her granddaughter, Lisa, all of Ottawa. Mary was born in Winnipeg on March 8, 1921, the fourth child of Joseph and Rose Halowec. She is predeceased by her brothers, Mike and Billy and sister Anne. Mary was an active bowler with the Empress Mixed League and a golfer at the South Interlake Golf Club. She enjoyed the many friendships which she made over her years of competition. She also had many years of involvement in community activities in Brooklands. She and Charlie enjoyed many winter vacations with family and friends. Her good humour, warmth and compassion will be sadly missed by her immediate family and her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue, with Rev. Binding officiating.
