EDWARD W. FREHS Edward passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, November 26, 1999 at the age of 89 years. Edward is survived by his sister Edna Harshberger of Shoreview, MN; nieces, Adrienne Stringer of Vancouver, BC, Patricia Jones of Hollywood, FL, Virginia Markovich of Belleville, ON, Heather Fluck of Hector, MN, Arlene Frehs of Toronto, ON, nephews, Bruce Harshberger of Willmar, MN and Dennis Frehs of Milton, ON. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Winnifred; his sister Viola of Vancouver and brother George of Toronto. Edward was in the Canadian Army from 1942-1946 as an Administrative Asst. based in Ottawa and was discharged with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geologists of Manitoba, a Life Member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Manitoba (St. Johns Lodge No. 4), a Life Member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and an active member of the Khartum Shrine since 1961. He retired in 1975 from the position of Chief Building Engineer for the City of Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance at Aubrey St., with Rev. Clark Saunders officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwards memory to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Association, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
