ELSIE RITSUKO NISHI Peacefully on November 29, 1999, at Vista Park Lodge, Elsie Nishi (nee Sasaki) passed away at the age of 76 years. Elsie was predeceased by her beloved husband Masao; parents, Shinnosuke and Taki Sasaki; brothers, Bill and Harry. She will be sadly missed by her children, Cheryl (Jeff) Collins, Les (Bev), Victor (Myra), Roberta (Wayne) Palmer, Teresa and Roger; grandchildren, Pat (Jaquie) Collins, Jodi (Jared) Poetker, Matthew, Owen, Curtis, Mandy, Chelsey, Bradyn; and great-grandchild Paige. Elsie is also survived by sister Ruth Usami (Sasaki) and brother Roy Sasaki. Elsie was born on March 7, 1923 in Richmond, B.C. She moved to Manitoba in 1943, where she met and married Mas, her husband of 50 years. Her family was always her major focus. Sunday dinners were a highlight and were greatly anticipated. She was a dedicated and devoted wife and mother. Elsie will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the warm, caring staff at Vista Park Lodge, who cared for her. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. A private family interment will take place.
