Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ANGUS MacDONALD April 10, 1922 - November 28, 1999 With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our greatest teacher, John Angus MacDonald. Dad was born on April 10, 1922 in Grahamdale, Manitoba, son of John Angus and Christina (MacKenzie) MacDonald. He received his teaching certificate in 1940 and taught school for one year prior to enlisting in the Royal Canadian Navy, serving overseas from 1942-1945. At the completion of the war, he returned to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba, graduating with a Bsc in 1949. He resumed his teaching career and taught in the Winnipeg School Division for 35 years. Dad took a two-year sabbatical from teaching and graduated with a Doctorate in Education in 1974. Dad retired in 1986 and devoted his time to his family. Dad was predeceased by his parents, John (1965) and Christina (1966) and his sister Katie Belle and infant (1951). John is survived and dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Isabelle; and children, Bonnie (Stan) Geeroms, Ian (Eileen) MacDonald, Janice MacDonald, Michelle Yankoski and Roderick (Bonnie) MacDonald; five grandchildren, Christine, Jennifer and Melissa Yankoski, Kyle and Sean MacDonald; also, his sister Margerie (Pete) Loewen. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. Interment follows at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
