Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT WALTER STEWART Peacefully, with his daughter Gail, his son Garry and his daughter-in-law Shirley by his side, on Tuesday, November 30, 1999 Albert Walter Stewart, aged 78 years, passed away at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Gail (Gordon) Thompson, grandsons, Ian and Craig; his son Garry (Shirley) Stewart, grandsons, Eric and Scott; his sister Margaret Lowe of Vancouver; special friends, Fred and Frances Lees, Charlie and Roberta Rafter. Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis on November 18, 1999, and his parents, Albert and Annie Stewart. Walter was born in Winnipeg on July 9, 1921. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 to 1945. From 1950 to 1980 he enjoyed a successful career with the Great West Life Assurance Company, where his high standard of personal integrity was valued by clients and colleagues alike. Walter was a member of the Wartime Pilots and Observers Association and a lifelong member of Norwood United Church. The strength of his love and devotion to his wife Phyllis, children and grandchildren has left a lasting and treasured legacy. Dad will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. Heartfelt thanks to Evelyn and all the staff of the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their loving care and concern. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, December 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norwood United Church, 160 St. Marys Rd., with Rev. Susan Tough officiating. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Walter may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 4G2, or a charity of their choice.
