PETER BURTON On Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at his residence at Gods Lake Narrows, Man., Peter Burton passed away at the age of 91 years. Peter was originally from Cape North, Nova Scotia and came to Elk Island on Gods Lake as a prospector. Here he met his wife Agnes who predeceased him on January 17, 1989 at the age of 67. They made a life together and enjoyed fishing, trapping. Peter was predeceased by his son Jackie November 20, 1969. He leaves to cherish his sons, Gilbert (Gloria), Jimmy (Anita), and Donald; daughters-in-law, Doris Burton, Lorraine and Rita Burton; grandchildren, Patti Brightnose (Jeff), Kelly Burton (Elizabeth), Greg Captain (Leah), Jody Burton (Daryll), Donna, Tanya, Russell (Kelly), Doug Burton, Clinton and Jordon; great-grandchildren, Gary, Craig, Tessa, Jonah, Dylan, Darian, Kody, Brett, Jayden, Trent (Carrie), (Sophie) and Candace; many family and friends who dearly loved him; also sister Cassie Tingley (Walter) and brother Robert Burton. Wake services will be held on Thursday, December 2 and Friday, December 3 at the Community Hall, Gods Lake Narrows. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church, with Rev. Hilda Perch officiating. Interment to follow at the Gods Lake Narrows Cemetery.
