VASIL SURMAI Suddenly on Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Vasil Surmai, aged 58 years, beloved husband of Sofia. Vasil was born in selo Kuty, oblast Lvivska, Buszky region, W. Ukraine. He came to Canada in 1988 with his wife Sofia and son Mykola, and was later joined by his son Andriy and his family. Vasil was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Many were enriched by his generosity and youthful enthusiasm. Vasil was employed by Acrylon Plastics and was a member of Blessed Virgin Mary parish. He had an immense passion for fishing and nature. Besides his beloved wife Sofia, Vasil leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Mykola, Andriy and his wife Olena; grandson Nazar; parents, Mykola and Irene Nikulin. Panakhyda (prayers) will be sung 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 3 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4 at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave., with Rev.
