WESLEY CLARK GABEL Peacefully on December 1, 1999, after a lengthy battle with cancer, with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Wesley Gabel, age 67 years, at the Concordia Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marie (nee Purves) his mother Emma Gabel and his sister Dorothy (Dennis) McKay; sister-in-law Shirley (Don) Steele; stepdaughter Annette and four grandchildren, Debbie, Jeffrey, Crystal and Donna Lee, also nieces, Lois and Clarice and nephews, Glen, Reginald and Blaine. Wes was predeceased by his father Charles Gabel in 1982. He was born August 22, 1932 in Winnipeg and lived his earlier years in Camper, Manitoba. He married Marie in April 1960. Wes worked at McArthur Falls, Provincial Concrete, Aetna Roofing and until his retirement in 1997, he worked for the Rural Municipality of St. Clements. His greatest interest the last few years was spending time at their cottage where he enjoyed the great outdoors - gardening, fishing, the birds, playing horseshoes, and his pet cat "Pepper," who will greatly miss him. He received great satisfaction helping his friends and neighbours. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who took special care of Wes during his illness. Special thanks to go out to Dr. B. Komenda for his kind and compassionate care towards Wes and family. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3 at 1:30 p.m. with viewing one half hour prior to service at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Paul Clarc officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wesleys memory to a charity of ones choice. Wes was a very kind and humble man, who would never refuse to help anyone. I am sure God will welcome him in His fold. "Bye Wesley, until we meet again." We Love You, Your Family.
