MARILYN JEAN HLADKY Marilyn Jean Hladky of Brandon, passed away at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon, on Wednesday, December 1, 1999. Marilyn was born on April 21, 1947 in Winkler, MB, daughter of William and Helen Spenst. She grew up on a farm in the village of Rosengart where she received her elementary education. Marilyn proceeded to take her grades 9 to 12 education in Winkler and then received her teaching certificate at the University of Manitoba. After university, she taught school for eight years and raised her children. Marilyn was the co-founder of Galaxy Computer Systems. She enjoyed designing on the computer and internet. She loved crafts and gardening. Marilyn had a very generous and tender heart which was expressed through her love for little children. She is survived by her beloved husband Ted; children, Rick, Tracy and Chris; son-in-law Brad and daughter-in-law Sandy. Also surviving are Marilyns sisters and brothers, Pearl (Albert) Letkeman, Lori (Bob) Letkeman, Ron Spenst and Gary (Connie) Spenst; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her youngest son Matthew; and her parents. The funeral service will be held at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Ave., Brandon, on Friday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Phil Price will officiate. A private graveside service will be held in Winnipeg at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Marilyn to the Canadian Cancer Society, 42 McTavish Ave., E., Brandon, MB R7A 2B2.
