RODERICK GRENICK Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 1, 1999, with his family at his side, Roderick Grenick passed away at the age of 87. He was born on January 31, 1912. He was predeceased by his wife Mary; his parents and sisters, Jean, Stella and Carrie. Roderick is survived by his daughters, Audrey (Jim) Herda, Violet (Harold) Zabowski and Cheryl of B.C.; grandchildren, Karen (David) Reich, Susan, Lori, Robert and Kevin; great-grandsons, Ryan, Matthew and Luke; sisters, Helen and Frances. Dad was a pioneer in the Cooks Creek area and lived there for most of his life. He loved farming and looking after his farm animals. In 1984, he moved to Winnipeg where he lived in his own home until two weeks before he died. Dad was a very strong and independent person. He loved his dog Trigger who was his faithful companion and he loved listening to music. His favourite song was a song by Frank Sinatra called "I Did It My Way" and with Gods Help thats exactly the way he lived his life. Many thanks to Dr. Kaettner and the nursing staff of Seven Oaks Hospital (5th floor, Unit 1) for the wonderful care they gave to Dad. Special thanks to his neighbour Anna for her kindness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing hour before the service at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB with Fr. Sebastian Gacki officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rodericks memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
