ANNE KARMAZENUK Anne Karmazenuk, age 91 years, of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 1999 at the Grace Hospital. Anne was born November 21, 1908 in Rossburn, MB and attended school there and at Chmelycki. She married Nicholas Karmazenuk on June 4, 1931 and they farmed until 1943 when they moved to Rossburn where Nick was appointed Secretary-Treasurer for the R.M. and the Village of Rossburn. Anne was the assistant for several years. Anne and Nick retired to Brandon in 1973 where Anne resided until 1992 when she moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her family. She was an active member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Womens Association of Canada at Glen Elmo, Rossburn and Brandon. Anne was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1990; her parents, Matthew and Nellie Hasiuk and by two brothers and two sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing sons, Manley (Viola) of Carman, MB and Raymond (Margaret) of Lions Bay, BC; daughter Evangelene Bingham of West Vancouver, BC; grandsons, Darryl (Edith) of Calgary, AB, Greg (Dorothy) of Moose Jaw, SK and Trace of West Vancouver, granddaughter Lisa of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Lesley and Amanda; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Ghost, 59-11th St., N., Brandon, on Friday, December 10 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Hudyma officiating. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Friends so wishing may make donations in Annes memory to the Arthritis Society, Westman Region, 153-8th St., Brandon R7A 3W9 or to a charity of choice.
