ELAINE SMITH It is with deep sadness that Dorothy announces the passing of her sister Elaine on Sunday, December 5, 1999. Left to mourn are her sisters, Dorothy Louise Smith of Winnipeg and Eleanor June Smith of El Cerrito, Calif.; nephews, Roland Alexander Smith (wife Catherine (Katy)) of El Cerrito, Calif.; Donald Gregory Smith (wife Lida) of Carrollton, Texas; grand nieces, Gabriella of El Cerrito, Calif. and Kristyna of Carrollton, Texas. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Edwin John and Katie Louisa Smith of Winnipeg and brother-in-law Jack Alexander Smith of Long Beach, California. Elaine attended Mulvey, Wolseley and Kelvin Schools as well as Success Business College. Elaine worked in the insurance business all her life, first with James Milne, then Wilfrid Royale, Ryan Agency, Maurice Gelley and MPIC until she retired. She was a life member of the Womens Insurance Association of Winnipeg and was a member of St. Aidans Church . For several years she was associated with the seniors group at the Church. Special thank you to Doctors, Diane and E.W. Ramsey, also to V.O.N. and Home Care, especially Lita, Linda and Legaya for their care. Also special thank you to Joanne and Len LaVallee for all their help, visits, telephone calls and many kindnesses, and to Eileen Graham, Adele Smith, Dianne Friesen and the ministry and friends at St. Aidans Anglican Church for their kindness and support. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Wpg., R2L 1X3, or to the charity of ones choice. At Elaines request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Friday, December 10 at 12:30 p.m. in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue with Rev.
