HELENE M. KEOUGH (nee LAMARRE) Peacefully at Foyer Valade, on Monday, December 6, 1999, Helene Keough passed away at the age of 88 years, beloved wife of John Keough of Headingley, MB. Helene was born on April 10, 1911, in St. Francois-Xavier, MB, the eldest of 12 children. She married John Keough on February 22, 1938. Together they resided in Headingley, where they raised six children. Dedication and caring for others were of utmost importance in her life. This was most evident in the care shown to Dennis while he was living at home with Mom and Dad. Her faith and strength were a source of inspiration for all that knew her. Besides her loving husband John, she leaves to cherish her memory her children, Louise Mollot (Marcel), Maureen Houde, Dennis, and Janine Girard (Ben) daughter-in-law Peggy Keough; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are her brothers, Edmond Lamarre (Jeanne), Buddie Lamarre, Johnny Lamarre (Rose), Ron Lamarre (Ellen), her sister, Sr. Lorraine Lamarre; sisters-in-law, Jill Lamarre and Marg Lamarre; brother-in-law Harold Maher; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Jean Baptiste and Virginie Lamarre; daughter Kathleen Klassen, son Jim Keough; son-in-law Robert Houde; brothers, Arthur Lamarre and wife Pauline, Edward Lamarre, Horace Lamarre, sister, Gilberte Lafleche and husband Camille; sister Annette Maher; and sister-in-law, Joan Lamarre. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, December 8 at 8:00 p.m. in the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Helene on Thursday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m., also in the church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Moore, presiding. Pallbearers will be Messrs. Jamie Keough, Roland Mollot, Marcel Houde, Philip Houde, Dennis Girard, and Gilles Girard. Flowers gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Paraplegic Association, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. We the family, would like to express our sincere gratitude to Foyer Valade and in particular, the very devoted staff of the third floor, for the kindness, concern, and care shown to Mom during her years spent at the home.
