WILLIAM GEORGE CHARLES (BILL) It is with great sorrow that we, the family announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on December 8, 1999 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Margaret. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Elizabeth Paulusma (Dave), Marilyn Charles (Grant), Robert Charles (Joan) and Alan Charles (Debbie) also survived by his six grandchildren, Dan, Kim, Chris, Colby, Kelsey and Brenden; and brother Gordon Charles (Joan), and sister Kay Maddigan. Bill was born on June 18, 1921 in Winnipeg. He served in the army overseas for six years during the Second World War. He was a member of the Fort Gary Legion, Eager Beavers Fitness Club at the E.K. YM-YWCA, and was an avid swimmer, who enjoyed his morning swims at the Elmwood Kildonan Pool. Bill was retired from the C.N. Railway. He was a carman/painter for many years. We want to give thanks to the SICU at St. Boniface Hospital, especially Kerry, Heather, Sara and Marshall for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. with Rev. Jane Wetelainen officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave. R2H 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
