SELMA SYLVIA DOMIER Selma Sylvia Domier (nee Buvik) passed away at home on Tuesday, December 7, 1999. She had been in ill health for the past 18 months. Selma leaves to mourn her loss her husband Kenneth of 43 years; son Calvin (Vinita) and grandchildren, Ria Chandra and Arvin Erik of Davis, CA; daughters, Sharon (Shane) of Montague, MA and Linda Lowry of Welland, ON; her brother Roald Buvik of Winnipeg, MB and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a sister Judith Schaitel and a brother Douglas. Selma was born at Wynyard, SK on August 11, 1930 and attended Big Quill public school, Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute, Outlook, SK and the Saskatoon Technical Institute. She worked in accounting in Saskatoon and Regina. She married Ken Domier in Saskatoon, SK on September 8, 1956. They lived in Regina and Winnipeg before coming to Edmonton in September 1969. In addition to being a loving mother to her family, Selma was an avid gardener, bridge player and took part in many Sons of Norway activities. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Hainstocks Funeral Home, 9810-34 Ave., Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scandinavian Professorship Endowment Fund at the University of Alberta or the Sons of Norway Foundation in Canada or to a charity of choice.
