Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESA TESS LEONIE HOGG (nee WALLEYN) Peacefully, in her sleep, on Sunday December 5, 1999, Tess passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78 years. Tess was born in Mariapolis, Manitoba and lived her early life on the family farm near Mariapolis and the Greenway Districts of southern Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg during the war and met her beloved husband, Jim, who predeceased her in 1967; and now will rest forever by his side. She was also predeceased by her three sisters; Marie Labossiere, Madeline Byrnes, and Gregorine Sloik. Mother spent her early years as a homemaker and later in a wide variety of jobs. She was a people person, who enjoyed life to its fullest. Tess loved music and dancing, and was involved in many social groups and clubs. Mum was special to all who knew her. She found room in her heart and home for everyone. Tess will be fondly remembered, and forever missed, by her many friends and family including her son James Hogg and daughter-in-law Cecelia Gallagher of Winnipeg, daughter Janice and son-in-law Bruce of Whitehorse, YT, her grandchildren; Colleen Gallagher-Hogg, Dylan Thomas Hogg and Kimberley Sova, her special niece Terry Dederick, her brothers Rosario and Romeo Walleyn, and finally her surviving sisters Julie Barnes, Blanche Gira, and all her extended family, including many, many friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, December 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the caregivers at the St. Boniface Hospital, who cared for mother over the past few months.
