Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLINE STEWNER (nee MAYER) Peacefully on December 7, 1999 at Grace General Hospital, Carol Stewner, aged 73 years, passed away. Carols memory will be cherished by her family; daughter Judy (Len) Franklin, granddaughter Chantal Cobb, great grandchildren Shaedon, Shieran, and Chalan, grandson Jamie (Lorraine) Franklin, granddaughter Lynda (Rheal) Lesage, great grandchildren Dylen and Christopher, grandson Larry (Mary) Franklin, great grandchildren Tyler and Natasha, son Larry (Carol) Stewner, granddaughter Christine (Steve) Krahn, great granddaughter Carlee, grandson Frederick (Monica) Stewner, great grandson Damien, and son John (Sharon) Stewner. Carol will also be remembered by her loving partner, John OKeefe and his family and by the Mayer and Stewner families and many friends. She will be thought of often by her friends in Mesa, Arizona, her recent winter home. Carol was predeceased by her husband Fred as well as many other relatives. Carol was born on the family farm in the Springfield Municipality and moved to Winnipeg to begin working at a young age. She married Fred on May 18, 1946 and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage. During these years, Carol was Mom to many of Freds family members. This was a labour of love for many years. In 1974, Carol began working at Georgies, retiring in 1994. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Carols family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. W. C. Schellenberg, Dr. Pat Harris, and the staff of the 4th floor, Grace Hospital. Also a heartfelt thank you to Carols friends, Jessie and Alf who were there whenever we needed them.
