ISOBEL AGNES WILSON Passed away peacefully at Third Crossing Manor on Monday, December 6, 1999 at the age of 88 years. Isobel was born September 8, 1911 in Vancouver. At an early age she moved with her parents, residing for a very short time in Grenfell, SK before moving to Manitoba and settling in the Deseronto District and later moving to Gladstone. Isobel received her education at the Deseronto and Gladstone schools. She worked as a clerk in various stores in Gladstone for many years before working for seven years at the Manitoba School in the Bakery Department. In 1989 she took up residence at Legion Place and in 1997 moved to T.C.M. Isobel took great pride in her baking and enjoyed gardening. Each year she entered baking, flowers and vegetables in various classes at the local fair. She was also actively involved in the community, was a member of the United Church Womens Group, Charter and Life Member of the Order of the Royal Purple, a life member of Gladstone Curling Club, and a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Predeceased by her parents, John and Jennie Wilson and two brothers, William and Jack, Isobel leaves to cherish her memory her sister Bert and Howard Cook; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great great nephew. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Blair Whyte officiating. Interment will follow in the Gladstone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Third Crossing Manor Courtyard Fund, Box 1000, Gladstone, MB R0J 0T0. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
