BEATRICE (BETTY) CAROLINE ZAHARIA Peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 1999, after a lengthy illness, Betty, beloved wife of Gord, passed away in Concordia Hospital. Betty was predeceased by her father and mother, Walter and Fanny Still and twin brothers, Wally and Charles. Betty was born September 14, 1927 in Transcona, attended Central School and lived her entire life in Transcona. In earlier years, she enjoyed travelling and her time at the lake. Betty also enjoyed her home and garden, and friends and family dropping over. Christmas was always Bettys favourite time of the year and she took special joy in decorating her tree and home. Betty will be sadly missed by her husband of 51 years, Gordon; her brother-in-law Wilfred; sisters-in-law, Jean, Beverley and Anne and numerous nieces and nephews. Our many thanks to the staff of Deer Lodge Centre and Concordia Hospital for all their care and support. Special thanks to Dr. L. Wozny, Dr. Ormison, Dr. Baidwan, Dr. Blakeley and Jeff Cook, minister of the Transcona Memorial United Church. Viewing will be held Thursday evening (tonight) between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day St. Funeral service to follow on Friday, December 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day St. with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Interment at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Bettys memory, to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot, Winnipeg. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
