MICHAEL MYKETIUK November 21, 1904 - December 9, 1999 Peacefully, on December 9, 1999 with his family by his side, Michael Myketiuk, our dad, gigi and father-in-law passed away at the age of 95 at the Tudor House Personal Care Home. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary of 70 years; son William; mother Nettie, father John; sisters, Lena and Mary and brothers, Nick and Peter. Dad leaves to celebrate his life and forever cherish his memories, daughters, Nettie (Tony), Donna (Bill), Anne (Steve), Catherine (Ted), son Peter, Metro Fedak; and numerous grandchildren. Dad was active past his 95th birthday and was always ready to go out with his family. Dad worked hard to provide for his family and also loved to volunteer at the community hall where he could be seen tending bar at New Years, weddings and other social functions. Dad loved music and dancing and was well known for his two step. Dads love of life, remarkable will and determination, along with his kindness and generosity will always be remembered and treasured. Dad was very competitive and received many trophies for shuffleboard which he played regularly in later years and then found bocci ball at Tudor House. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with a reception to follow at Smittys Restaurant in Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13 at 10:00 a.m. also in the chapel with Very Rev. Henry Lakusta officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Greek Orthodox churchyard, Poplar Park, MB. The family would like to thank Dr. Wozny for his care throughout the years, the nursing staff and all the care givers at Tudor House Personal Care Home for their compassion and dedication. Thanks to Vickey Dolenuk for making sure Dad got to the activities area for bocci ball which he dearly loved to play. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations of food to the Christmas Cheer Board would be greatly appreciated. A heart of gold stopped beating, Hard working hands laid to rest. Thank you Dad Vichnaya PamYat Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
