JUAN B. FONTANILLA October 18, 1937 - December 8, 1999 Peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 1999 Juan Boado Fontanilla passed away after a lengthy battle with heart disease, at the age of 62. Juan was born October 18, 1937 in Damortis La Union, Philippines and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1973. He was a dedicated husband and father who will always be remembered for striving to provide the best for his family. Their fondest memories are of time spent together as a family whether is was birthdays, holidays, weekend camping trips, long drive vacations or just doing things at home. Juan worked and lived in Winnipeg for many years until 1994 when he was forced to take an early retirement due to failing health and with his wife, moved to Vancouver. His memory will be cherished by his wife Rosalina; children, Jenny (Ross), Lourdes (Derek) of Richmond, B.C., Rosana (Michael) of Richmond, B.C., Maria (Paul) and Leo John of Vancouver, and grandchildren, Alycia, Stefanie, Matthias and Rachel. He will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. Funeral services will take place at St. Josephs Parish in Vancouver on Monday, December 13 at 10:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing can make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.
