EDWARD WOJCIECHOWSKI Peacefully with his family at his side and after a lengthy illness Ed passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 84 years. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Stella of 50 years; daughters, Helen Peterson, Jan McNaughton (Al Stiles), Anna Gunn (Randy) son Ray (Julie) of Red Deer Alta. Grandchildren Jason McNaughton (Lara Uanagec) of Vancouver, B.C., Jaclynn and Kyle of Red Deer, Alta. Brother Peter and wife Steffy; nephews Chester (Georgina) and daughter Yolanda and son Chester Jr.; Alfred (Tamera) and daughter Elizabeth of Boston. Predeceased by his parents Adolf and Juzefa, bothers Josef, John and sister Maria all in Poland. Ed was born March 20, 1915 in Wilno, Poland. Served in the Polish Army in the Second World War. He came to Winnipeg in 1946 and on December 20, 1949 married Stella. He was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Ghost Church, Holy Ghost Fraternal Society and Legion 246. He worked for CP Rail, Reimer Express and the University of Manitoba, retiring March of 1980. Dad was extremely proud of his ability to work hard and will be remembered for his strong work ethics plus his love for his family. Prayers will be said on Monday evening, December 6 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis, O.M.I. officiating. Viewing will be one half hour before Mass. Pallbearers, Jason McNaughton, Randy Gunn, Al Stiles, Chester Wojciechowski, Zenon Hladki and Larry Ades. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the nurses in the ICU Unit and to Val and Ellen of the fifth floor Unit 3 for their compassion and care during Dads final days with us.
