FRANCES DOREEN HLOPINA (nee TODORUK) October 23, 1923 - November 30, 1999 Peacefully on November 30, 1999 at Pine Falls Hospital Frances left us with Jesus by her side to a peaceful place beyond. Frances was predeceased by her loving husband James Dymetro Hlopina August 8, 1993, her mother Gladys Todoruk October 27, 1993 and brother Elian Todoruk August 19, 1999. Frances loved her family and enjoyed her life to the fullest, with a heart as big as the world. Frances spent her childhood in Russell, Mb., where she met a dashing young man by the name of James from Lenard Mb. They were married December 19, 1942 and moved to Winnipeg, where they spent the rest of their lives together through good times and hard times. In the middle 1960s to early 1970s Frances was an agent for two rock bands Thee Popcorn Blizzard and Organic Impression. Frances worked hard as a seamstress and giving clothes to children and families in need. Frances spent the later part of her years working at Diashowa (Reeds) from where she retired. Frances loved to grow flowers and house plants and also loved to enter contests. She loved to do her ceramics but she loved her family, friends, and Buhda first. Frances will be remembered by her sons Brian (Glenda) of Ile Des Chenes, Mb. Glenn of Belair, Mb. and Wayne (Elaine) of Winnipeg. Grandchildren Kayla and Kristina; step-grandchildren Chris, Cory, Nicole and Chantel plus many nieces, nephews and many relatives. Special thanks to the Holovach family for always making mom feel right at home and the nursing staff at Pine Falls Hospital and home care worker Fatima. MOM (Geek) you will always be loved by the people who knew you. Love the family. Prayers will be said on Sunday evening, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elijah Romanian Orthodox Church, Leonard, Manitoba with Rev. Fr. Joseph MacLellan officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
