Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH CHARLES LAVICH Peacefully on the morning of December 11th, 1999, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Joseph Lavich, passed away at the age of 76 years. Joe was predeceased by his mother Rose and father Anthony; sister Stella and infant son Michael. Dad was born in 1923 in Kelwood, Manitoba. He married Louise Kulbatski in 1947, and together over the next 53 years they raised the family that he so cherished. Dad will be remembered for his easy going, mild mannered approach to life and for his devotion to what he saw as his greatest success, his children. Dad worked with CN for 32 years and retired happily to spend more time with his greatest passion. Dads life revolved around the family and his greatest love was the many get-togethers, birthday parties, wedding socials and family reunions. There was nothing that Papa Joe enjoyed more that a Polka or a roaring game of "Chase the Ace" with all of his children and grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Louise; children, Leon, Dave, Connie, Bob, Betty, Lillian, Bernie, Bernadette, Teresa, Laura, Mark, Joe, their spouses; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother Frank; sisters, Agnes and Nellie; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him deeply. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit and to Dr. Zahachka, Dr. Taylor, Dr. Wong and Dr. Daenick for their kind and compassionate treatment. A funeral mass in celebration of Joes life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14 at St. Bernadettes Church with Father Fred Olds presiding. Respecting Joes wishes, cremation will take place following the service. A private family service will be held at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe can be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5.
